Have you ever wondered why there are so many skeptics when it comes to the Law of Attraction (LOA)? After all, it is a universal law that is based on simple physics.

Many sources have misrepresented the LOA by almost making it sound like a fairytale – which understandably excited many people. Imagine being able to just WISH something into existence! It sounds almost too easy.

That’s because it really doesn’t work that way. But after trying to use the methods described in books like The Secret, many people threw up their hands and declared that the LOA does not work – because they didn’t get what they tried to manifest.

This included me.

However, I am here to tell you that LOA does work after learning about some key major factors that were left out of The Secret (and other books on the LOA) in order for it to work. Let’s go over 5 of the misconceptions that people were given about LOA and replace them with facts.

Misconception #1 – Imagination And Vision Board Are All You Need To Get What You Want

Imagination and vision boards are great tools in order for you to stay focused so you are reminded on a constant basis about what you are going after. Especially after facing some obstacles. However, in order for you to go after what you want, you need to take inspired action. Without taking action, things will not fall into your lap. The other important thing is to be open about how you will receive it, and be open to receiving alternatives as well.

Misconception #2 – Negative Thinking Must Be Banished

Having negative thoughts is all about being human. Everyone will experience disappointment, anger, sadness, feelings of envy, and even jealousy. Those are not meant to be feared. In fact, if you suppress those emotions then that is where problems arise. The real problem is becoming stuck in those negative emotions which will most definitely get into the way of what you want to manifest. Don’t fear negative thoughts because you are afraid they will get into the way of you attracting what you want.

The best thing to do is allow negative emotions to process through you and work through it, and if you are having trouble, then talk with a therapist. In fact, envy and anger can be used in a positive way because it can fuel you into taking inspired action for what you want to manifest.

Misconception #3 – The Law Of Attraction Makes Someone Selfish

Well, someone who has selfish intensions could use LOA, that is correct. They could use it to manifest money or anything for their own purposes. However, LOA itself will not make someone selfish. In fact, there are plenty of people who use it so they can have the resources to do a lot of good in the world such as being able to open up a charitable organization to help a specific cause.

Misconception #4 – The Law Of Attraction Will Not Work If You Have Abundance Blocks

It is true that you have to be in the right mindset to make the LOA work for you, and that you must work through negative emotions that you are stuck with. And decluttering does help. But who says you have to attain perfection in order to make it work for you? No one is perfect. If the Universe sees you are making an effort even if all of your ‘abundance blocks’ are not ‘gone’, it will still work for you. It is all about intention, not perfection.

Misconception #5 – The Law Of Attraction Can Fix All Of The World’s Problems

That would be nice if it did. However, it doesn’t work that way as you have 12 universal laws coming into play as LOA is one of them. But you can use LOA to help contribute to making the world a better place such as manifesting money to donate to world hunger organizations for example. But LOA is not the answer to solving problems in the world.

Now that you are aware of the 5 main misconceptions of LOA, you can understand it better and then you can have it work for you – as long as you are consistent with the work with doing so!
