Your time is valuable and the last thing you want to do is spend too much time on it in the kitchen when you are preparing meals. That is because this is the area of your home that can take up a lot of time since it really can be time-consuming not only to prepare meals but to organize cookware, dishes, and utensils. There are 5 ways you can save time in the kitchen so you have enough to use for other important things.

1. Plan Meals Ahead Of Time

Before the week ends, you will want to plan your meals for the next week so you are not having to think of what to cook up at the last minute. You can either do most of your grocery shopping over the weekend, or you can utilize the convenience of meal kits where food and ingredients to cook up will be delivered to you instead of you having to shop.

2. Do Mass Cooking For The Week On The Weekend

This is why it is important to plan your meals the week before the following week so you have your items before the new week begins. Therefore, you can spend your time in the kitchen during the weekend cooking and then freezing meals when you are done. Therefore, all that will need to be done is to grab meals from the freezer and to warm it up during mealtime. That will take very little time to do during the week.

3. You’ll Want to Slice Up Vegetables One Or Twice A Week

There are most vegetables that you can slice up only once or twice a week which can be done on the weekend as well. They can be stored in the fridge cut up in airtight containers, and be ready to be taken out. This will keep your cleaning to a minimum as well if you only do it once or twice a week. However, the only vegetables you cannot cut up beforehand are avocados, tomatoes, green leaf vegetables, and cucumbers as they will bruise and go bad fast. Those you will need to cut right before mealtime.

4. Keep Snacks Portioned Out

It is easy to overeat on snacks, so you will want to portion them out before grabbing it. After you get snacks from the groceries, just cut cheese into cubes, and cut celery into sticks, and so on, and put them in airtight containers in the fridge. This way, you can grab it and go later on.

5. Have The Table Pre-Set

You will want to put aside dishes, cutlery, and any tableware and put them in the middle of the table. This way when it is dinner time, you don’t need to hunt around for it. The tableware is right there on the table to be set in a matter of minutes.
