Each day, we provide a series of daily affirmations and reflections designed to help you get that ShineBuzz feeling. We suggest that you read through the affirmations (aloud if possible, in your head if not) and meditate on them for a few moments. You can also choose one or two that speak to you and carry them with you throughout the day. When you’re finished, take a few moments to answer the reflection questions at the bottom in your journal or add them into your meditation, whichever works best for you. Here are today’s affirmations and reflections.
My healthy personal relationships are important to me.
I carve out time in my schedule to get together with family and friends. I slow down and evaluate my priorities. I block out time in my weekly calendar for family dinners and coffee dates.
I choose to spend my time with family members and friends who are on my level. My relationships are healthy and wholesome.
I offer encouragement and support. I stand by my family and friends during their victories and setbacks. I praise them for their efforts and celebrate their successes.
I express my gratitude. I imagine how different my life would be without those I love.
I demonstrate my affection. I hug my children and hold hands with my friends or partner.
I provide respect and validation and maintain my boundaries at the same time. I let my friends know that I empathize with their struggles, even when they choose a path that is different from my own. I resolve conflicts by seeking mutually acceptable solutions.
Even though I enjoy sharing a laugh and goofing around, I also make it a point to engage in meaningful conversations. I move beyond small talk. I share my dreams and doubts, and give others the opportunity to do the same.
I suggest constructive and enriching activities. I invite a friend to join me for a morning run or a business accounting class. I plan family outings centered around volunteer work or art exhibitions.
Today, I make my chosen family and friends a top priority in my life. I share my time, love, and attention.
1. What is one of my favorite memories that involved spending time with a family member?
2. How do I feel when I make a loved one smile?
3. What is holding me back from spending more time with my family and friends?
