“Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” ~John Lennon

Happiness has a lot to do with how we see ourselves and the things we believe about ourselves. How you see yourself will affect how happy you are. Each Enneagram Type is unique in the way they view themselves. This gives them unique perspectives, which can make some people happier than others. So, which Enneagram Type is most likely to be the happiest?

Chances are, you know the Enneagram by taking the Enneagram test, or reading about it elsewhere. But, do you know what type is the most likely to be happiest?

What is the Enneagram?

The Enneagram model is characterized by nine points that represent each distinct personality type. Many psychologists in the 20th century started using this tool to find the matching personality type through the Enneagram. Anyone can study it so they can learn something about themselves. The Enneagram can teach people their personality type and why they behave the way they do, like and dislike certain things, and they can use the tool for growth.

The Enneagram teaches people how to listen to themselves and recognize their own patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. It also provides a language for talking about these patterns with others in a way that is non-judgmental, compassionate, and illuminating. The Enneagram is a system of classification that can be used to describe the personality types of all human beings. It is based on the idea that there are nine primary ways of perceiving and reacting to the world, and that each person has a dominant mode of operation in all three areas:

  • introverted or extraverted (how we perceive the world)
  • intuitive or sensory (how we make decisions)
  • feeling or thinking (how we make decisions and what we value)

The Enneagram also teaches us that these three modes or areas of our personality function in relationship with each other. When one mode becomes more predominant, it influences the other two modes, thereby affecting our overall personality type.

What Enneagram Type Is Most Likely To Be The Happiest?

Is there an Enneagram Type that is the most content with what they have, and in general? Happiness is a rare thing indeed. Most people who think they’re happy are really just content, and that’s not the same. Contentment is what you feel when you’ve been given enough to stop suffering, but happiness goes beyond even that. It’s a feeling of being complete, right where you are, with what you have.

The Enneagram Type That Is The Most Content

According to Elizabeth Wagele of Psychology Today, those with the Type 9 Enneagram type, the Peacemaker, is pretty content. The Peacemaker wants peace and calmness and is the happiest when they are in their homes and comfortable. Those with this type do not ask for things. They are most likely to count their blessings and are happy with what they have.

Type 9 is not happy when there is chaos, but it would not be realistic for anyone to be that way. Those with this type don’t expect much and are satisfied with what makes them the most content. However, they are not known to be overly enthusiastic. So let’s find out the highly passionate Enneagram type.

Of course, it’s easy to assume that type 9s are the happiest of all the enneagram types because they’re known for being peacemakers and cooperation, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. It has nothing to do with their being happy or unhappy; it has everything to do with their self-expression and its relation to others. The reason why they are good at working with others is that they are connected to their true selves – they know what they want and how they feel about something in order to be able to communicate it.

On the other hand, type 9s that have not developed their own identity can easily feel lost because they don’t know who they are outside of their role as a peacemaker. They lose themselves in helping others and end up feeling resentful or unappreciated by those around them. This makes them unhappy.

The Enneagram Type That Is The Most Enthusiastic

There is contentment, and there is enthusiasm. So who is the most enthusiastic? According to Molly Owens of Truity, those who have the Type 7 Enneagram Type known as the Enthusiast, as the name says it all, fit this bill. Enthusiasts are incredibly passionate about life, and they are looking forward to an adventure, and they find excitement in anything. Those with this type are also highly inspired and will surround themselves with anything and anyone who inspires them.

However, according to Owens, the Enthusiast is deeply afraid of being stuck in a rut and having a FOMO. So they cope with this fear by looking for other pleasures, fun, and new experiences. What about the type that is passionate to the point that they are confident?

The Enneagram Type That Is Happy And Confident?

Several Enneagram types are the most confident. In addition to that, those with that type find enthusiasm in their work and want to be their best. They are genuinely passionate about the work they do. According to Joshua French N.B of Enneagram Playground, those who are genuinely confident are the Type 3, or the Achiever.

The Achiever loves what they do, but at the same time, they can also put a lot of pressure on themselves to succeed. And if they feel they are not succeeding, that can get into the way of their happiness. So the Achiever also can struggle to get in tune with their emotions.

Any Enneagram type can attain happiness, but the most likely to experience it are the ones listed above. It can take a lot of work to find true happiness, and anyone is capable of it. However, those types listed may find shortcuts to it because satisfaction is in their demeanor.
